From the Fertile Plains of the Valley to the Peaks of the Sarentine Alps

Feldthurns/Velturno affords you an almost limitless enjoyment of Mother Nature in all Her glory. Along the valley floor near Schrambach / San Pietro Mezzomonte, the bicycle path will take you over the fertile plains of the Eisack Valley. You can enjoy extended tours and lengthy foot walks.
The mid-altitude ridge of the Eisack Valley – where the village of  Feldthurns/Velturno is located – is the ideal starting point for lengthy outings along the Chestnut Trail, to visit country manors, churches, and monasteries. You'll pass through majestic forests in the nearby villages of Villanders/Villandro and Barbian/Barbiano.
Starting at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea-level, you find an extensive network of trails affording wonderful views. From here, you can continue to Lake Radl and the Alpine hut with the same name, the Kuhberg Meadow, or the Latzfons Meadow and the Villanders/Villandro Meadow. The cozy refreshment stops and Alpine refuges are open the year around, and offer tasty South Tyrolean specialties.
