The range of natural splendor you can experience in this multi-facetted region can hardly be matched anywhere else in South Tyrol.
On the valley floor around
Klausen/Chiusa, you'll find the fertile plains of the Eisack Valley – ideal for extended tours and lengthy foot walks.
Feldthurns/Velturno,
Barbian/Barbiano, and
Villanders/Villandro are situated on the mid-altitude ridge of the Eisack Valley / Val d'Isarco. Their sunny clime and magnificent landscapes are just the thing for lengthy hikes along the Chestnut Tree Trail to visit castles, churches, and monasteries.
To the south, the Villanders/Villandro Meadow with the Rittner Horn / Corno di Renon complete this hiker's paradise on the one side of the valley. The Villanders/Villandro Meadow is the second-largest high-altitude meadow of South Tyrol. Verdant fields, moors, lakes, and rounded mountaintops reach up to 2,500 meters above sea-level. This hiker's paradise boasts many Alpine huts for the whole family and are open the whole year through.
To the north, the Latzfons Meadow and Lake Radl and the Alpine hut of the same name round out our multi-facetted vacation region.
On the other side of the valley, high above the village of
Lajen/Laion, the first massives of the Dolomites rise majestically, enticing more-ambitious hikers.
