Trostburg Castle in Waidbruck

Castle complex dating from the 11th to 16th centuries with furnishings and art objects from various ears. It was once owned by the brother of the famous medieval troubador, Oswald von Wolkenstein. Exhibition of historical models of South Tyrolean castles by the hand of Ludwig Mitterdorfer (1885-1963).

Velthurns Castle
The former summer residence of the prince-bishops of Brixen/Bressanone, a fine castle complex from the 16th century with Renaisance furnishing (wood panelling, ceramic stoves, and murals) and a collection of South Tyrolean work of art from the 15th to 20th centuries that were brought or conficated between the World Wars by the Office for Historical Monuments.

Town Museum of Klausen
Various collections are housed in the former Capuchin monastery: the Loreto Treasure (Spanish and Italian arts and crafts from the 16th an 17th centuries); sacred art (15th to 19th centuries) and art and artists from in and around Klausen from the last half of the 19th century, when the city was a favourite destination for artists in search of romantic inspiration. You can also visit the newly renovated Capuchin church.

Runkelstein Castle
Picturesque Castle Runkelstein, which stands on a mighty porphyry rock outcrop at the entrance to the Sarn Valley, is one of Bozen’s most beautiful castles. It houses various cycles of rich frescos depicting the tales of knights, castle life, hunting, the passionate relationship between knights and court ladies and scenes taken from well-known literature.

Mining World Villanders
Since 2005, visitors habve been able to visit the Elizabeth tunnel. It is 1.670 meters long and situated on a altitude of 1292 meters. It affords an insight into traditional mining methods, the conveying line and processing the ore as well as the working conditions of the miners.

Cable Car Rittner Horn
