Art and Culture of an Ancient Land along the Trade Routes
Since time immemorial, the mid Eisack Valley / Val d'Isarco has been a stopping place for travelers. Romans, Rhaetians, the Bavarii (a Germanic tribe,) kings, knights, popes, noblemen, artists, and writers all passed through the Eisack Valley. Various different rulers influenced its history and development. And they all left evidence of their passing – visible today in the form of churches, monasteries, castles and manors, arbors, sacred and secular works of art which still influence our craftsman's traditions.
